The broad scope of Balance explained
Optimal health and wellness is dependent upon 3 important aspects that require balance.
1. Nutrient balance
The nutrient classes include:
- Proteins – essential to growth and repair of muscle and other tissues.
- Carbohydrates – our main source of energy.
- Fats – one source of energy and important in relation to fat soluble vitamins.
- Minerals – those inorganic elements that are critical to the normal function of your bodies systems.
- Vitamins – water and fat soluble vitamins play important roles in many chemical processes in the body.
- Roughage – the fibrous indigestible portion of our diet essential to health of the digestive system.
- Water – essential to the normal body function: carries other nutrients into and out of all the cells of your body.
It is essential that the proper ratio of nutrients be consumed AND absorbed for your body to properly function and maintain A Healthy Balance.
Gale Leigeber / A Healthy Balance can comoplete a thorough dietary and nutrient intake analysis for you and determine whether your food intake is balanced nutrition.

Nutrient balance: A second look
Still another very important thing to consider for A Healthy Balance and balanced nutrition is a Homeopathic Remedy.
This might sound strange at first, but consider what the homeopathic founder Samuel Hahnemann explained.
"The true, natural, chronic diseases are those that arise from a chronic miasm. When left to themselves (without the use of [homeopathic] remedies that are specific against them) these diseases go on increasing. Even with the best mental and bodily dietetic conduct, they mount until the end of life, tormenting the person with greater and greater sufferings."
In other words, if you have a chronic miasm which impedes your body's use of a nutrient, such as magnesium, you could take in as much magnesium through diet and/or supplements as possible and still have issues with magnesium.

Nutrient balance: still more.
For balanced nutrition, nutrients in proper ratios include sources from both foods and natural supplements. While there is a beautiful balance in foods, there has been so much that has altered our food supply that we are actually better off with supplements in many cases. A good example are the marine based Omega-3 fatty acids. We are exposed to contaminants in fish, whereas supplements have been purified.

2. pH Balance
Your body is really no different than other living things. Fish need the water they swim in to be the proper pH or they get ill and die. Plants need soil pH to be perfect for their type to thrive, different plants require different soil acidity.
And even though your body is designed to operate in an alkaline state, your cells must produce acid in order to function.
When your proper pH balance is achieved, the 50 trillion cells that make up your body thrive. This enables your bone, organ tissue, skin, blood, muscle and brain cells to flourish and function at optimal levels.
However, improper pH negatively impacts food digestion/absorption, enzyme activation and binding of hormones with their receptor sites.
Vibrant cells are the building blocks of a healthy body. A Healthy Balance.

3. Energy Balance
Energy comes from the food we eat as well as the excess energy your body has stored (primarily in fat). Energy is commonly measured in calories.
The math of burning calories involves two components:
Your "basic energy requirements" include your resting metabolic rate (energy your body consumes just to function) as well as the energy burned in normal daily activities.
You "extra energy requirements" are what you burn in exercise and other stressful situations.
To maintain a healthy body weight, the calories you consume should equal the calories you burn. To gain weight, consume more than you need. To lose weight, you must burn more than you consume. It's basic science.
It has been determined that for most people that an approximate ideal blend of energy comes from 57% carbohydrates, 30% fats, and 13% protein.
Energy Balance Part II
Still another part of the energy balance equation is that the energy needs to be directed through the proper channels in the body.
Alternative and complementary medicine has a way of assessing the energy flow along pathways in the body, testing points on the fingers and toes, to evaluate imbalances.
Gale Leigeber / A Healthy Balance uses Meridian Stress Assessment or Limbic Stress Assessment to do this. From this assessment we can generate suupplement protocols and examine food imbalances.
